Just Russel, the Belgian pioneer in personalised and healthy food for cats and dogs, has chosen complete TELETASK building automation for its new company building. The company, which has grown from a small start-up to an international player with over a hundred employees in just a few years, was seeking a solution that could guarantee comfort, efficiency, and safety.
From a garage business to an international player
What began as a passionate idea in a home garage, developed into a true success story at Just Russel. The rapid expansion brought new challenges, including the need for a larger work environment and an advanced management system for energy and access control.
After positive experiences with a TELETASK installation in his private residence, the owner chose the Belgian brand again to automate the new company building.
Smart integration of access control and building automation
Just Russel faced the challenge of efficiently and reliably recording and reporting flexible working hours to management. To address this, Just Russel became the first company to implement a combination of G3 controllers (PALAS) with the newly integrated PORTA functionality in ATMOS.
This innovative solution works in conjunction with TELETASK proximity readers, which handle access registration. In addition, the REMOTE SERVICES subscription enables secure emails containing all access registrations from the previous period. The central system collects all data, stores it securely, and converts it (in this case, weekly) into a report (CSV file) that can easily be imported into Excel for control and further processing. The HR management team automatically receives this report in a dedicated mailbox.
When access information is needed instantly, the HR manager can consult access logs in real time via the ATMOS mobile app or the PC dashboard. This allows them to see who entered the building, where, and when within seconds.
In this way, Just Russel combines the benefits of TELETASK home automation functions with the power and simplicity of integrated time registration.
Access control: secure, flexible, and future-oriented
Although the TELETASK access control system is utilised at Just Russel in a business environment with many employees, the same solution is also perfectly suited for residential use. Parents, for example, can see live whether the children have safely arrived home after school or check when the cleaning service, gardener, babysitter, or grandparents arrived.
A major advantage of the system is the ease of management of wireless access cards. Owners can activate or revoke cards themselves via their personal TELETASK cloud login. A revoked card immediately loses its access without any physical modification to the device. This is particularly handy with frequently changing staff, as there’s no need for time-consuming fingerprint or iris scan management. Moreover, to ensure service continuity, an access card can be passed on to a colleague, while remaining impossible to copy.
